Any Hyundai Techs out there? Transmission Question.?
I have an ‘06 Accent with 18500 miles on it. The transmission seems to “lag” when shifting out of Park and into Reverse or Drive when its cold. Is this normal?
After it warms up the lag lessens a bit. I’d say it lags approx 1-2 seconds before engagement into the gear when cold.
Also when going from Park to Reverse when cold, It makes a “creaking” sound.
Does any of this sound normal? Its my wifes car and I rarely drive it. I just noticed the issue today though when I drove it.
ALSO…I am going to take it in for its Trans service at 20k miles. Is there a Synthetic fluid that can be used in the Hyundai Trans that won’t void my warranty? How about adding a trans cooler to extend tranny life?

You car as all new cars come with at least a 3yr/36,000 mile warranty, I suggest taking advantage of that via the dealership.
